Castle Combe was used in the film "War Horse". The market square was the site of the auction at the start of the movie, with the WWI recruits marching down The Street and over the bridge.    Photos

Drive out of Castle Combe to the north and it's on the left at junction with Dunn's Lane (just after school Lane), signposted to Car Park

The centre of the village is the Market Square ....... ....behind which is The Castle Inn (where  stayed in Jan 2009)
....beyond which is the main entrance to the Combe Manor Hotel From the Market North along The Hill
.......and South along The Street ................. .........to the bridge (photo is looking back to Market)
 
To the West of the Market is the Church of St Andrew [IoE 317212]
